JOURNEY TO THE SCOTLAND OF ASIA

  INTRODUCTION

The Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Vagamon is a hidden gem that promises a unique and enchanting travel experience. Often referred to as the 'Scotland of Asia' due to its lush green landscapes, rolling hills, and pleasant weather, my recent trip to Vagamon was nothing short of a memorable adventure. In this blog, I will take you on a virtual tour of my journey to Vagamon, sharing the breathtaking sights, thrilling experiences, and the warm hospitality that this quaint hill station has to offer.

HOW TO GETTING THERE

Vagamon is well-connected by road and can be easily reached from major cities like Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. I opted for a road trip from Kochi, which took approximately four hours. The journey itself was a delightful experience as the road wound through picturesque villages, tea gardens, and forests.

MAIN TOURIST PLACES 


VAGAMON PINE FOREST -The Vagamon Pine Forest is another natural wonder that left me in awe. This serene forest is a perfect spot for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. I took a peaceful walk through the pine-scented woods, which felt like a scene from a fairytale. The tall pine trees and the gentle rustling of their needles in the breeze were incredibly soothing.


VAGAMON MEADOWS - The Vagamon Meadows, also known as the 'Vagamon Green Meadows,' are the crown jewel of this hill station. These expansive grasslands offer panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. I couldn't resist the temptation to lie down on the soft grass and soak in the tranquility of the place. Many tourists come here to enjoy picnics, play sports, or simply relax while taking in the breathtaking scenery.



TEA GARDENS-One of the highlights of Vagamon is its tea gardens. The region is known for its tea plantations, and a visit to these estates is a must. I spent an entire morning strolling through the tea gardens, marveling at the neatly manicured rows of tea bushes and the skillful plucking of tea leaves by the plantation workers. The aroma of fresh tea leaves filled the air, creating a sensory experience like no other.



  • MURUGAN HILL TREKKING- I embarked on a trek to the nearby Murugan Hill, which is known for its ancient temples and the stunning 360-degree view it offers from the top. The trek was challenging but rewarding, and the view from the hilltop was worth every step.
CONCLUSION

My trip to Vagamon was a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. This charming hill station offers a unique escape from the chaos of city life and leaves you with memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, an adventure seeker, or simply someone looking for a peaceful getaway, Vagamon has something special to offer. I left Vagamon with a heart full of gratitude for the opportunity to experience its beauty and a longing to return to its serene embrace.
